Prim Hand Hooked Rug - Red Rooster

Description

This is a rooster I hooked from a paper pattern by Anne Nichols.  There is some modification to the original pattern which I presume was inspired by an old weathervane.
The rooster is hooked in reversible wool with red texture on one side and a dark green on the other side.  The background is a greyed light green tweed. I've used some darker wools in various places.
It is finished with yarn around the perimeter as well as a wool strip sewn on so that you can hang the rug if you want.  Otherwise it sits
very nicely on a table.
The first picture was taken outside and the last picture shows the back of the rug.
This rug measures 21 inches by 16 inches.
