    Description

    Rare old Tanzanian conical burden/gathering basket.  Woven in a wrapped twined weave by Sukuma basketry maker.    Purchased at an auction and exact age is not known, but believed to be about 100 years old.  Was originally decorated with bands of colored weft but know darkened ith age.  Animal skin base.  13inches high and with 12 inch diameter at mouth
