Antique Victorian Style Grate, Vent, Register, Cast Iron, Tuttle and Bailey, Old House Salvage. This register has good integrity and a very attractive classic Victorian pattern.
This register includes the cover plate and a louver assembly underneath.
The louvers are in good working order controlled by a thumb-wheel mechanism. This looks to have a date of 1886 in the iron, but it is hard to read.
The top of the grille measures approx. 11 3/4 inches by 9 3/4 inches. From the front to back with louvers open it measures approx. 3 inches, and 2 inches with louvres closed.
The grille looks to fit a floor or vent opening of about 8 inches X 10 inches.
The unit is in nice shape but it does have some thick worn paint, old plaster, and mild rusting. Selling as-is.
With some cleaning and new paint this vent would be a
beautiful addition to your home.
